Together before the start

When we got to France, we took a train direct to the Mont Blanc resort for hiking. In the wonderful town Chamonix, we stopped to plan the route. We ordered rooms in advance along the way (calculating the distances between the huts). The weather was great all along. Everywhere alp flowers were blooming in masses. It was definitely one of the best places during our Europe trip.

Together before the start |

These are the first steps in the Mont Blanc resort. We just left Chamonix, and we are excited before an amazing trek around. We reserved beds in the huts along the path in advance. |

During climbing up, as well as walking around, the colors are strong and extreme. The Mont Blanc in the background escorts us almost all along the trek. |

After putting our bags in the first hut, we go to explore a path across the alp meadows, just to check how it looks there. We have a nice happy picnic there, experiencing the nature in a new way. |

Kathi is on the pass |
|
Kathi`s birthday is the last day of the trek. We have to climb down in a very steep canyon. More than 500 meters deep. It is terrible hot and far in the valley we hear the loud noise of a river. Unfortunately, the path doesn't reach the river. On the long way back to Chamonix we quench our thirst with a bottle of water we purchase (with many difficulties, because it is a holiday). Eventually we make it to the birthday celebration with a cheese Fondue. |
